Projects

FORT MONROE: CASEMATES FEASIBILITY STUDY

I directed a due diligence and feasiblity study of 1820s casemates for adaptive use to flexible space as part of the reuse planning for transition from a U. S. Army post to new civilian uses. Specialized investigations included: archaeological excavations, flow testing for the sod roof with buried drains, and structural load and settlement assessments.

FORT MONROE: QUARTERS ONE SITE AND BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS

Designed and managed site improvements and building improvements to adapt and restore historic features. Site: build a new drive and parking court using pervious paving blocks, and plant a new cathedral live oak. Building: remove concrete overlaying worn stone treads and jacking iron pickets, patch with matching material, completely remove lead based paint from walls, windows, and radiators, remove intrusive closets, and refinish floors and wainscot to original.

CITY OF SPARTANBURG: DESIGNS FOR COMMUNITY CENTER AND NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS, MASTER PLANNED ANNEXATION AND SITE DEVELOPMENT, NEOTRADITIONAL NEIGHBORHOODS, AND HOPE VI REDEVELOPMENT

My expertise was used to plan and design site and building projects for various owners including the City, a large master planned development site, two neotraditional neighbhorhoods requiring creative and highly technical solutions to achieve public safety and service standards, and a HOPE VI affordable and mixed use housing authority site.
